Vision One
After the passing away of the Glorious Manjunatha Lama Tsongkhapa, the Gaden tradition of Buddhism was growing immensely in various parts of Tibet. As there were still spiritual turmoil of the people of Tibet leading the life of extremists, many got caught up with masters misleading practitioners with the wrong way in favouring only their financial support.
Lama Tsongkhapa’s heart disciple, knowing this, felt a sense of remorse for these people. He then broke into tears and made an offering of the Universe, or Mandala, supplicating his Root Guru for help and inspiration. Thus came the existence of this vision of the Incomparable Lama Tsongkhapa.
“O ye, Majesty to the Three Thousand Worlds,
Sovereign King of the realms of Devas and Humans
By the power of these verses and my faith
Pray listen to me!You, whose Wisdom light shines forth in the ten directions
Dissipate the darkness hovering the suffering
Like the autumn lake moon
Shining bright in the clear night skyYou, whose Compassionate nature is white and immensely pure
And a total refuge for all beings for nourishment
Like the noble white elephant
Your celestial ride descending from the skyYou, whose Vajra-like power is pervasive protection
For those without a refuge and with little faith
Like the six tusked pachyderm
Complete of the Bodhisattvas’ perfectionsLead us out from the extremes of Samsara
With unsought richness and distractions
Bring us out of shameless poverty
That we may be blessed with your inspirationPray may all Teachers Noble and Kind
Live long and mould me as pure vessels
So that the Doctrine may not be lost
And that may it pervade forever more”-Prayer and supplication composed out of inspiration by Tenzin Damtsik
